- Toyota Hilux. Most common 4WD in the western suburbs. Service intervals 10,000 km, timing chain inspection at higher km, diff servicing at 40,000 km.
- Toyota Prado. Family 4WD and towing favourite. Regular servicing, transmission fluid at 60,000 km, diff and transfer at 40,000.
- Toyota LandCruiser (70, 200, 300 Series). Serious long-term investment vehicles. Maintained carefully by owners.
- Ford Ranger. Runs hard. Regular servicing, timing belt on older diesels at 150,000, turbo actuator issues watch.

Pre-trip inspection — what's included
Before a Moreton Island run, a Scenic Rim weekend, a Cape York trip, or a Simpson Desert crossing, $89 covers:
- Full fluid check (engine, transmission, diffs, transfer, coolant, brake, power steering)
- Tyre check (tread, pressure, sidewall condition, age)
- Spare tyre check
- Battery test
- Fan belt condition
- Cooling system pressure test
- Brake pads and rotors
- Shock and suspension condition
- All lights and indicators
- Wiring inspection for rodent damage
- Tow equipment if fitted
- Recovery points secure
- Air filter condition
- Fuel filter condition (diesel)
You get a written report of what’s good and what needs attention before you leave.
4WD suspension lift legality in QLD
A 2-inch suspension lift is legal in Queensland without engineering certification, provided:
- The lift is achieved using compliance-rated components
- Vehicle attitude (rake) remains within spec
- Total lift (suspension plus tyre) stays within 75 mm
- All geometry corrected (caster, pinion angles)
Larger lifts require engineering. We don’t fit illegal lifts — the risk to your registration and insurance isn’t worth it.
Suspension brands we fit

- Tough Dog. Heavy-duty, good for extreme use.
- Pedders. Value option, acceptable for moderate use.
- Bilstein. Premium damping, often used for ute performance.
- King Springs. Australian-made, matched to our conditions.
