How same-day works
Book online or call. Best time is Monday to Saturday morning when the schedule is most flexible.
Bring the vehicle, registration papers, and photo ID.
Inspection takes 45 minutes. Longer if your vehicle has modifications (lift kits, tow bars, aftermarket lights).
Pass: certificate issued on the spot. You leave with the paperwork ready to submit.
Fail: defect list issued. You have 14 days to rectify and return for a free re-inspection. We can usually quote the repairs on the spot and complete most work same day.
What's checked
A Queensland Safety Certificate is a 40-plus item inspection covering:
- Brakes (pad thickness, rotor condition, handbrake, fluid)
- Tyres and wheels (tread, damage, alignment indicators, spare)
- Steering and suspension (bushes, joints, shocks, play)
- Lights (all exterior, horn, indicators, reverse)
- Body and structure (rust, seatbelts, doors)
- Windscreen (cracks, wipers)
- Under-vehicle (oil leaks onto ground)
Common fails (Brisbane-specific)
- Window tint too dark. Under 35% VLT fails. A lot of owners get caught.
- Headlight alignment. Easy adjustment, but needs attention.
- Uneven tyre wear from alignment issues. Alignment $129 plus tyres if worn past limit.
- Oil leaks onto the driveway. Dripping oil fails. Sealing common leaks from $250.
- Perished CV boots. Torn rubber boots fail. Replacement $189 to $389.
- Worn brake pads. Below minimum thickness. $289+ per axle.
If any of these come up at inspection, we quote honestly. Most can be fixed same day — you collect the certificate that afternoon rather than returning later.
