Why Toyotas come to us
Dealer pricing. A standard service at a Toyota dealer is typically $450 to $700. Same work at our Repco Authorised Service Centre is $239 to $389. Over 5 years, that’s $1,500 to $2,500 in savings with no change to your warranty.
Log book stamped. ACCC-compliant stamp keeps your warranty intact. We don’t need to be a dealer to do this — Australian Consumer Law is clear.
Parts network. Repco Authorised means we have OEM-quality parts through the national network. Oil filters, air filters, brake pads, spark plugs — all genuine or better-than-genuine quality.
Known failure modes. After servicing Toyotas for years, we know what wears on each model. We check those items proactively rather than waiting for failure.
Common Toyota work we do
- Hilux timing chain inspection. 1GD and 2GD diesels had known chain stretch issues on early production. We check at service time.
- Prado and Landcruiser diff and transfer case servicing. Critical on 4WDs used in dusty or wet conditions. Standard interval 40,000 km.
- Camry and Corolla brake pad replacement. Front pads typically at 60,000 to 90,000 km.
- RAV4 hybrid battery check. 12V aux battery is the usual failure point (the main hybrid battery is warrantied for 8 years by Toyota).
- Kluger transmission service. 8-speed auto needs fluid every 60,000 to 80,000 km.
- Corolla CVT (newer models). CVT fluid service at 60,000 km is non-negotiable.
- Landcruiser wheel bearings. Solid-axle LandCruiser bearings need regular inspection and periodic replacement.
Keeping warranty intact
Australian Consumer Law protects your right to service your Toyota at any qualified mechanic. The ACCC has been explicit: dealers cannot refuse warranty claims based on servicing location, provided the servicing meets the manufacturer’s schedule and uses fit-for-purpose parts.
We use Toyota-specification oil (0W-20 on most modern Toyotas, 5W-30 on older), OEM or equivalent filters, and factory-equivalent parts. Every service stamps the log book. If any dealer ever questions your warranty due to servicing here, report it to the ACCC — it’s a breach of consumer law.
Toyota hybrids and EVs
Camry Hybrid, Corolla Hybrid, RAV4 Hybrid. Same servicing as petrol equivalents (engine oil, filters) plus hybrid-specific checks (coolant for the inverter, 12V aux battery). From $259.
bZ4X (Toyota electric). No engine oil. Service includes brake fluid, cabin filter, 12V battery, tyre rotation, software check. From $229.
Hybrid battery warranty remains with Toyota and is separate from regular servicing — not something independent workshops touch.
